Quiet Desperation Season 3, Episode 10: “Season Finale”


Greetings and good tidings!!!
This is the finale of Quiet Desperation season three, a Boston-based reality series that follows the adventures of bi-polar manic artist-type Rob Potylo. The finale episode centers around Hurricane Sandy’s impact on Union Beach, New Jersey and how Occupy, working together with Rainbow Rapid Response helped set up a camp to provide food, clothing, and supplies, along with a crew to repair houses in the area for those suffering from the devastation.
Occupy seems to be moving more towards epic humanitarian efforts to unify people and spread their message instead of the V For Vendetta style protest that seemed to define the group during much of its first year.
Quiet Desperation Act Three, Episode Nine: “A League of Loons”


Rob is back in Allston Massachusetts after going on multiple protests, occupy events, rallies with Vermin Supreme. Unfortunately with coming back to Allston comes the vices of life in the city and Rob is quickly back on the drugs and partying it up with old friend Bigg Nez. In hopes to clear him and his friend’s head Rob brings Bigg Nez to Vermin’s compound in hopes to find his groove again.

After surviving his cliff dive Rob Potylo takes a bus down to Charlotte, North Carolina and joins the Occupy The DNC Camp at Marshall Park with Vermin Supreme to have some protest fun and sing some songs at the Democratic National Convention. Fulls of Occupiers, Anti Abortionists, McRib signs from McDonald’s, cops, dreams, a song about hot dogs and applesauce, and more!!!

Quiet Desperation Act Three, Episode Seven: “A Vermin Love Supreme”


After trying to kill himself by slashing his wrists Robert is saved by ex-commune member and presidental candidate Vermin Supreme who then carries Rob away to his compound in the middle of nowhere. Vermin then spends the next three months practicing his methods of evolution on Rob — who is mostly on mushrooms and still harbors city paranoia and basically is scared of everything around him. Rob eventually starts to come around and an epic journey through the forrest to a magical cliff dressed as a penguin takes place. Robert then has to take the flight of his life…

Bigg Nez is up poo creek without a paddle. After winding up with a dead lady at the commune due to her allegic reaction to hummus Bigg Nez is targeted by Sprinkles and company to be killed off. Although Mallory is trying to keep things together, time is ticking on things blowing up…. Meanwhile Rob is suicidal after being thrown out of living in the backseat of a car and is on his last straw as he can’t find a way to make a living with his creative side and doesn’t want to try and fit into a world that doesn’t seem to understand or want him around. He visits the commune and Nez/Mallory in hopes he can find something to hang onto.

Robert ruins his chances of getting his band exposure when he uses their set time at the WBCN Rumble (see Episode 19 for rumble story) to talk about the evils of corporate radio and is banned from it. He spends his days in a manic haze of different personalities at house parties he’s throwing with close friends to forget things while he enters a “goth-y period.” During this time he visits Casey to sing some Klaus Nomi and lament past relationships… This gets lame quick and so Casey gets Robert to explain Sarah and sing some more Klaus Nomi and everything seems to get okay…
